Leadlight Restoration & Repairs
At TopShelf Leadlights we specialise in repairs and restorations of leadlight windows in churches, heritage buildings, local businesses and private homes. With the introduction of double glazing I am often asked to make the windows smaller to be installed into a D/G unit. I carefully make the adjustment so as not to loose the detail in the leadlight. It is then polished and cleaned before being sent off for double glazing.
Bring your leadlights back to their former beauty. Pauline will assess what work needs to be done, sorting insurance claims, glazing & builders with free quotes. Minimal stress to you.
Here are some examples of complete repairs and restorations that we’ve done.

What our clients say:

The rebuild of this leadlight window was done for Barb Beckett in her lovely grand old home in Nelson. The window was sagging outwards and had been broken for many years.
I replaced the broken pieces and rebuilt the window with all new lead "came" and putty.
Now It is back to looking beautiful and watertight once again. Barb's window should now last another 100 or so years!
Barb said: "I am absolutely thrilled and impressed with your workmanship, professional manner and result of the rebuild.
The window has been much admired."
Thank you Barb for the opportunity to restore your window to its former beauty.

"Hello Pauline, my name is Jane Archer and you did a job for me years ago when you were in Nelson.
I had a leadlight from a previous house and you repaired it and added a coloured border to make it fit a window in our new house.
Wonderful work and I'm still filled with appreciation every time the morning sun sparkles in it!"
